Waarland

Waarland was founded on a number of islands and gradually wrested more and more land from the water around it. The oldest mill used for this purpose is the “Poldermolen Waarland” at the edge of the village. In addition Waarland has one of the largest butterfly gardens of Europe and is surrounded by several beautiful nature reserves. The large music festival “Badpop” is one of the key events of the year.
