NibbixwoudNibbixwoud is famous in the Netherlands because of its women’s handball team “SEW”, which has been successfully competing for decades in the highest nationwide league. In the 15th century the village mostly thrived on fishery and later on fruit growing, but its fruit production has been reduced significantly in recent years. The current cultural centre “Bessie” used to double up as a church and as the local town hall. Recently built bike lanes that cross through the farmlands around Nibbixwoud are a major asset to the village. |
