KolhornAs a former fishing and port village at the Zuiderzee, the picturesque Kolhorn boasts a marina and a close relationship with the water, even though it is now located about 20 kilometers inland. On the West-Frisian Omringdijk you can take a stroll back in time and visit several museums in old ‘boeten’ (warehouses) that were used to store peat before it was transported further on. A large part of Kolhorn enjoys a special status as protected national heritage. Visitors can take a boat ride, rent canoes or go sailing on the Kolhornerdiep. |
