Hoogkarspel

Hoogkarspel first appears in old records in 1319 as ‘Hoghenkerspel’, an elevated church village. It connected to adjacent villages with city rights in 1403. Hoogkarspel houses many farmhouses and orchards and has its own train station on the railway Enkhuizen-Hoorn. The distinctive, nearly 50 meter tall water tower was built in 1930 and can be seen from miles away.
