De Goorn

De Goorn was first mentioned in old texts dating back to 1312. After a church was built in 1637 De Goorn grew from a hamlet into a village, situated between the settlements of Burgt and Avenhorn. This linear village was located in the middle of fields that were mostly accessible by boat. As the village grew it reached nearby Avenhorn, and both villages are now linked together.
