Avenhorn

Together with the neighbouring village of De Goorn, Avenhoorn forms the centre of the municipality of Koggenland. It used to be a predominantly agrarian village with its own auction house for agricultural produce, of which the old quayside in the centre of the village is the only remnant. The hamlet of Kathoek also forms part of the village of Avenhorn. The little Green Church at the West street dates from 1642 and derives its name from its historical green tower.
