Andijk

Andijk is a long, stretched-out village that runs all the way from Enkhuizen to Wervershoof. As the name indicates it is located ‘at the dike’ that separates the IJsselmeer from the West-Frisian hinterland. The area along the dike between Andijk and Medemblik forms a large and popular nature reserve and outdoor recreation area called the ‘Vooroever’. Andijk boasts two museums. The Hat Museum offers a particularly unique experience, although the Poldermuseum, housed in the former pumping station.
