Abbekerk

In the centre of the village of Abbekerk you will find Museum “Het Regthuys”, a monumental building that used to house a court of law covering the surrounding villages. The museum showcases many interesting artefacts of times past. Abbekerk is part of the municipality of Medemblik.
The local grass dehydration facility “Hartog” is an internationally renowned company run by Wil Hartog, also known as ‘the White Giant’. In the 1970s he amassed fame as a successful motorcyclist winning many Grand Prix races, crowned by his victory in the TT of Assen in 1977.
Abbekerk boasts its own open-air swimming pool and is located close to the West Frisian Omringdijk, bordering the Wieringermeer.
